The easiest way to the showground is up the Ceiriog Valley from Chirk.

  • From the A5 motorway, get onto the B5070 which passes through Chirk.
  • At the War Memorial in the centre of the village, turn west onto Station Avenue (Rhodfa’r Orsaf) toward Castle Crescent.
  • After 0.3 miles, at the roundabout, turn left onto Station Road.
  • After 0.2 miles, at the roundabout, turn right onto the B4500.
  • After 3.7 miles, pass through Pontfadog village.
  • After 1.0 miles, at Dolwern village, turn left onto the bridge over the Ceiriog river, then turn right toward Glyn Ceiriog village.
  • After roughly half a mile, the entrance to the showground will appear on your left.

Other ways to it include over the hills from Llangollen or from Oswestry. Find your itinerary here
