Subject to these Rules, trials will be held subject to the Rules of the North Wales Sheepdog Society. Where these Rules differ from those of the North Wales Society, these Rules shall prevail.
The Committee shall set the Course, and shall determine the time allowed for each competitor in each Class. The Committee’s decision shall be final.
Competitors are required to report to the Starter on the field by the time notified. Any competitor who fails so to report may be disqualified and the Entry Fee forfeited
No dog may run more than once in the same competition. The name of each dog must be stated.
Any dog injuring a sheep shall be disqualified. The owner of the dog shall pay compensation to the owner of the sheep.
No dog other than those competing will be allowed on the trial field. All dogs must be held on a chain or lead except when working. Dogs unfit from any cause will not be admitted to the field.
The decisions of the Judge shall be final.
Sheep Section
No exhibitor may enter more than two exhibits per Class.
All exhibits must have been the property of the exhibitor since 1st June prior to the date of the Show.
All exhibits must be on the field by 9.30 am on the day of the Show. No exhibit may be removed before 4.00 pm.
If the Judges consider that in a particular Class there is no entry of sufficient merit, they may withhold a prize, or prizes, or part thereof, in their discretion.
Should there be only one exhibit in a Class, the Judges shall award no more than one prize.
The decisions of the Judges shall be final.
Horse and Pony Section
Owners and handlers of horses and ponies are responsible for their animals, and should hold appropriate insurance.
The Committee may require that any animal they consider dangerous be removed from the field.
Riders must wear an appropriate protective hat when mounted.
Show Jumping Classes:
Competitors may enter no more than three Classes.
A horse or pony may be ridden by only one rider in each Class.
Novice Classes:
Competitors entering a Novice Class may not enter any other Class.
Competitors entering any other Class may not enter a Novice Class.
The decisions of the Judges shall be final.
General
A person shall be entitled to compete in any Class ‘Confined to the Ceiriog Valley’ if part of his land owned, worked on, or rented, drains into the Ceiriog Valley, or a tributary of the River Ceiriog, at any point from its source to its junction with the River Dee.
Entries must be made on the official Entry Form and must be accompanied by payment of the full entry fees.
The Committee may refuse any entry, or may limit the number of entries in any Class.
Competitors enter at their own risk. The Committee and the Society accept no responsibility for any injury to any person or animal, or for loss of or damage to any property.
Exhibitors and competitors are responsible for complying with relevant animal movement regulations, and should have animal passports or other relevant documentation available for inspection.
Subject to Rules 2, 7, 13 and 19, any Objection shall be lodged with the Secretary of the Society prior to the date of the Show, or before 4.00 pm on the Show Day, accompanied by a fee of £1.00. Objections shall be determined by any Three Members of the Committee selected by the Secretary.
Winners of trophies in the Trials Section are required to have their names engraved on them. The names of winners of trophies in the Sheep Section will be engraved by the Society. All cups must be returned to the Secretary prior to the date of the succeeding year’s Show.
